Paul Sperry, a senior reporter for Real Clear Investigations, reported that sources have provided text messages and emails indicating coordination between the Obama White House, the National Security Council, the State Department, and aides to Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign. These communications reportedly show efforts by both administration officials and campaign aides to collect information linking Donald Trump to Russian President Vladimir Putin during the summer of 2016.

“DEVELOPING: I’m told there are texts/emails indicating Hillary Clinton campaign aides directly coordinated with the Obama White House, NSC, State Department, and Intelligence Community officials in efforts to dig up dirt tying Donald Trump to Vladimir Putin in July 2016 …developing…” Sperry tweeted.

He’s been a mentor to Kamala. And he actually cares about the future of California authentically, and he in effect said she should try something different,” Slavet added.

“And he also said to you that he told her that when Joe Biden offered her the vice presidency, that she should turn it down and try to be the attorney general instead,” Michaelson responded.

“He did. First, he chuckled. He’s got a great kind of knowing chuckle. And he said, ‘I got in trouble for this when I said it.’ But what he told me is that when she was one of the final five and Biden was reviewing the final candidates, he recommended to her when she asked him for his advice that he suggest that Biden nominate her as the attorney general,” Slavet said.

“And it goes back to this theme of he believes that Kamala is better in the legal world, not as an executive. And that’s so important right now in terms of what California needs, which he and I talked about further in the episode,” Slavet added.

Michaelson then said, attempting to solicit Slavet’s response on whether Harris has any political future: “And he said that as attorney general, she might end up on the Supreme Court, which is where he thinks that she would be a better fit. He also said after that conversation, she never called him again. So that was apparently not the advice she wanted to hear. Obviously, she took the vice presidency, tried to become president. You’ve been talking to people all over the state about Kamala Harris. What are you hearing from people?”

Slavet said, “Well, I mean, as of a few months ago, when she was still funded by the US government, right? The VP, I think, has six months of support from the US government…has a team, Secret Service, et cetera, protection, et cetera. Now that’s evaporated. But she was doing a lot of polling to understand her image and standing nationally in 2028. And my understanding from people close to her is that it does not look good.”

Slavet then said: “That national standing and running again nationally does not look good for her. So the obvious question is, what does she do next? And given that California is such a Democratic state, the machine is so strong, the logical question is will she throw her hat into the ring?”

Pelosi’s video is going viral around the same time reports surfaced this week that former Senate GOP leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) fell again walking down a short flight of stairs leaving the Senate chamber on his way to lunch.

Some users online compared the deteriorating physical abilities of Pelosi and McConnell to that of the late Sen. Diane Feinstein, who literally remained in office until her dying day despite the fact that her mental capacity had deteriorated to a point where she was thought to be nearly incapacitated.

“Congress and the senate have become senior living facilities,” former Missouri Secretary of State candidate Valentina Gomez wrote on X.

“These elders just don’t have enough sense to know when to quit,” wrote another.

Earlier this week, McConnell was seen using a wheelchair after his reported fall, Express US reported.

“Fox confirms. McConnell falls down Senate stairs after voting to confirm Scott Turner as HUD Secretary. Unclear about injuries. But Fox is told he appears to be ok. McConnell was helped up by Sens. Steve Daines (R-MT) and Markwayne Mullin (R-OK),” Fox News congressional correspondent Chad Pergram tweeted.

According to his office, McConnell, who had polio as a child, is currently using a wheelchair “purely as a precautionary measure.”

“Senator McConnell is fine,” a McConnell spokesman said. “The lingering effects of polio in his left leg will not disrupt his regular schedule of work.”

Sen. Steve Daines (R-Mont.) told reporters after witnessing the fall: “I think he just slipped on the steps. I was right behind him and helped him get back up, and he walked on his own power to lunch.”

McConnell was seen leaving the lunch on foot, holding onto an aide’s arm. However, he was later spotted by the press returning to the venue in a wheelchair.

McConnell stepped down as Senate Republican leader earlier this year after experiencing multiple health issues. In December, he also suffered a fall in the Capitol building following a lunch with his colleagues, resulting in a minor face cut and a wrist sprain.

Last year, McConnell revealed that he’s “not leaving the Senate” and that he’s focused on combating the Republican Party’s “isolationist movement,” which some viewed as a shot at President-elect Donald Trump and his incoming team.

During an interview with WHAS radio host Terry Meiners, McConnell vowed to use his remaining time in the Senate to hit back against GOP colleagues who aim to rein in U.S. support for foreign allies such as Israel and Ukraine.

Despite his plans to step down as party leader, McConnell said, “I’m not leaving the Senate.” He added, “I’m particularly involved in actually fighting back against the isolationist movement in my own party and so many others as well.”
